Great question! The Serea lock is fully managed through the Serea App, which you’ll need an internet connection to download.

For the app’s main function — unlocking your lock — no internet connection is required. You can use this feature anytime, even without mobile data or Wi-Fi. This means you can also use it on vacation or when traveling abroad!

However, several additional features do require an internet connection and will not work in offline or flight mode. These include:

  • The Sharing function

  • Adding a new lock

  • Renaming your lock

  • Deleting your lock

  • Changing your password, username, or profile picture

  • Deleting your account

  • Viewing your complete unlocking history

What does this mean in practice?
You can use your registered lock normally without internet access. But to enjoy all the extra features of the app, an internet connection is necessary.
