Velo Berlin 2026 – Two Days of Pure Cycling Culture

On April 11 and 12, 2026, the cycling festival Velo Berlin took place at Berlin‑Tempelhof Airport. As in the previous year, we were once again on site in 2026 and were delighted to be part of this special event together with numerous visitors.

Saturday in particular showed the festival at its very best: bright spring sunshine created ideal conditions for test rides, discovering new products, and enjoying the diverse program of the event. Visitors enthusiastically took advantage of these perfect conditions—whether for test rides or engaging conversations with the exhibitors.

At our booth, we had the pleasure of welcoming many interested visitors and presenting our Serea locks live. Both the Serea Swift and Serea Bold were demonstrated on site, giving attendees the opportunity to experience the products up close. Additionally, visitors could purchase Serea products directly at the festival, an option that was very well received.

Although the weather on Sunday was colder and slightly rainy, it did not dampen the overall atmosphere. Plenty of cycling enthusiasts still made their way to the event, exploring the offers and innovations of more than 200 exhibitors.

A very personal highlight for us was the opportunity to be interviewed by Skyline TV. As a result, we were not only present on site but also featured in the online broadcaster’s Twitch livestream covering the event—an exciting experience and a fantastic way to showcase Serea to an even wider digital audience.

We look back on two successful days in Berlin and are already looking forward to the upcoming events!

Finalist in the Digitalisation Category – Styrian Innovation Award

As a Styrian brand, it was particularly important for us to present the Serea lock within our home region. The Styrian Innovation Award honours companies each year that make a significant contribution to digitalisation, innovation, and sustainability with their projects.

This year, we submitted our Serea Smartlock and were thrilled to be selected as a finalist. Being counted among the top projects in the Digitalisation category is a great recognition for us and validates our vision of a battery‑free, smart, and sustainable locking system.

Even though we didn’t take home the win, we are proud of our participation and grateful for the opportunity to showcase our innovative product to a wider audience. The competition once again demonstrated the innovative strength within Styria — and that Serea is part of this development.

Unlike relying solely on manufacturer claims, Sold Secure offers impartial, third-party validation, giving buyers the confidence that their chosen security product has been tested against realistic threats.

We’re excited to share some great news—our Serea Bold lock has officially earned the ART 2 certification!

For those who may not be familiar, ART is a independent Dutch foundation dedicated to reducing bicycle theft. They work closely with lock manufacturers and conduct rigorous testing to award high-quality, theft-resistant locks with their ART quality mark. Their certification system uses a star rating from one to five stars, with more stars indicating a higher level of security.

How ART Testing Works

To receive ART certification, a lock must pass a demanding series of tests. In the laboratory, locks undergo more than 20 individual evaluations, examining factors such as:

Durability and wear resistance
Weather and environmental impact (including dust, moisture, and corrosion)
Freeze and endurance resistance
Resistance to cutting, pulling, and forced attacks

The ART technical committee regularly updates these standards to stay ahead of new techniques used in bicycle theft, ensuring that certified locks continue to offer real protection in the real world.
